Why barefoot shoes?
The feeling of not wearing shoes
Preserving the natural shape of the foot
The large toe area allows the foot to maintain its natural position in the shoe, so your toes can take their natural position without restriction. This helps to prevent foot deformities.
Walking in barefoot shoes allows you to walk with a straight back.
Strengthening foot muscles
We strengthen the muscles and flexibility of the foot and develop its proprioception. The thin and flexible sole allows your feet to adapt to the terrain and surface irregularities. Your foot is active, which not only strengthens your feet but also your calves.
Natural foot rolling
In barefoot or minimalist shoes, the foot moves from the forefoot, rather than from the heel to the forefoot.
The flat or zero-drop sole ensures that the forefoot touches the ground first, not the heel. This relieves pressure on our entire skeleton and joints, eliminating impact on the joints, especially in the knees and back.
Wearing minimalist shoes with toe socks further improves the natural alignment of your toes, making the shoes even more comfortable and giving your feet even more freedom of movement.
The Kuluba is our first mid-cut barefoot shoe for outdoor use. It offers the ankle more stability and protection for all off-road activities, but is otherwise just as flexible and comfortable in the foot area as our other barefoot shoes.
The Barefoot 1 outsole is raised a little at the front to protect the toes. Its profile also offers a secure grip even on slippery surfaces, without sacrificing flexibility and ground contact. The upper material is breathable and water-repellent; the shoe is a very lightweight outdoor model overall.
Like all our adult models, the Kuluba comes with two insoles: A comfort insole (5mm) and a minimal insole (3mm), making it ideally customisable to individual needs.
Please note: Please refer to our size chart for barefoot shoes to find the right shoe for you. Our barefoot shoes run small!
